Like so many other people, I began 2020 with hopes and plans that have all but vanished because of the microscopic menace now crawling across the globe. Rather than focus on pursuing our dreams, we find ourselves fighting our way through a once-in-a-century disaster. This is a seismic event that will upend the world as we know it and change many aspects of our lives for years to come.
In the field of law we already confront numerous difficulties regarding the scope of government power, civil rights, child custody and visitation, employment, landlord-tenant relationships, and health care. As events continue to unfold, those difficulties will surely ripple into other areas such as insurance, bankruptcy, banking, and many others.
I am blessed to live in a vast, relatively safe state and to have my own business that cannot suddenly vanish out from under me. Many other people are not so fortunate, and I want to help if I can.
If you are in Florida or Montana and have been hit with a legal problem stemming from the current crisis, I am willing to discuss it with you at no charge (pro bono) in an effort to help you find a solution.
While I cannot guarantee that I will have the solution, at a minimum I can give you my thoughts and try to point you in the right direction. I am a one-man operation, so I prefer that you contact me by email so that I can sort through requests and address them as efficiently as possible. I will keep this effort going as long as I can; if I get overwhelmed at some point, I will make a new announcement here to terminate my pro bono work.
Good luck to us all.
